“Where exactly am I?” asks the lost tourist. Let me tell you about this place. We are in Phường Thạc Gián. It is a ward of Thanh Khê district. It is in the city of Da Nang in Vietnam.
Phường Thạc Gián is not just a location. It’s a vibrant part of Da Nang. It has a unique story to tell. Before today, the area of Phường Thạc Gián included parts of the current Vĩnh Trung and Chính Gián wards.
In 2024, there was a significant administrative change. The National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1251. This resolution reorganized district and commune-level administrative units in Da Nang. As a result, the entire natural area and population of Vĩnh Trung Ward were merged into Phường Thạc Gián.
Phường Thạc Gián now covers 1.29 square kilometers. The population is 41,802 people. That is a very high density of 32,404 people per square kilometer.
Interestingly, there is a cultural quirk. The Thạc Gián communal house is a national historical site. It is located in Chính Gián ward, not here.
Da Nang itself is a city of bridges. Each bridge is worth a visit. The Dragon Bridge breathes fire on weekends. The Han River Bridge swings to let ships pass.
Da Nang is known for its beautiful beaches. My Khe Beach is one of the most famous. It has been recognized as one of the best beaches in Asia.
If you want to try local food, Da Nang has much to offer. Banh xeo is a crispy pancake. Mì Quảng is a signature noodle dish. Bun cha ca is a fish cake noodle soup.
Da Nang is generally considered safe for tourists. It is a great place to explore without worries. If you plan a visit, allow three to four days. This will give you enough time to see the main attractions.
Phường Thạc Gián is a key piece of Da Nang. It is a place where history and modern life meet. Take some time to wander its streets. You will experience the real Da Nang.
