One million square feet. That’s what defines 11 Times Square. This office and retail tower stands tall at 640 Eighth Avenue. It intersects with West 42nd Street. We are now in the heart of Times Square and West Midtown.

Completed in 2011, 11 Times Square is a modern marvel. SJP Properties developed it with Prudential Real Estate Investors. Dan Kaplan of FXFOWLE designed this impressive structure.

Rising 601 feet, 11 Times Square has 40 stories. It holds the rank of the 131st tallest building in New York City. It’s hard to miss this architectural statement. The Port Authority Bus Terminal sits directly to the west. The New York Times Building is immediately to the north. Its location is prime real estate.

11 Times Square boasts many features. It has earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. This makes it an environmentally friendly building. A high-tech elevator dispatch system ensures efficient movement. An advanced visitor check-in system enhances security. A secured loading dock streamlines deliveries. A messenger and mail center adds convenience for tenants. The building provides LEED Platinum-level indoor air quality. Floor-to-ceiling windows brighten the column-free corner offices. Multiple private terraces offer outdoor space.

The lobby features a kinetic mobile installation. Artist Tim Prentice designed it. This adds an artistic touch to the building’s modern aesthetic.

Getting around is easy from 11 Times Square. It provides direct access to the New York City Subway. You can find entrances to the Times Square 42nd Street. Also, there are entrances to the 42nd Street Port Authority Bus Terminal stations. These serve the 1, 2, 3, 7, A, C, E, N, Q, R, W, and S trains.

SJP Properties started construction in 2007. They did so without any leases signed. Global law firm Proskauer Rose was the first tenant. They leased about a third of the space in 2010. When the building opened in 2011, it was only 40 percent leased.

Norges Bank Investment Management bought a 45 percent stake in 2015. SJP Properties continues to manage, lease, and operate 11 Times Square.

Microsoft Corp calls 11 Times Square home. Law firm Proskauer Rose also occupies space here. Other tenants include Moore Capital Management, British Telecom, and E*TRADE. Kepos Capital and eMarketer are also tenants.

11 Times Square includes 55,000 square feet of retail space. In 2017, Parques Reunidos leased the retail space. They initially planned to open a Lionsgate Entertainment Palace. However, they withdrew in June 2019. In 2024, Monopoly Lifesized rented the retail space.

11 Times Square stands as a testament to modern architecture. It combines aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. Its location is strategic, its amenities are top-notch, and its tenants are world-class. This building significantly impacts New York City’s skyline and commercial landscape.
