Tr\u01b0\u1eddng \u0110\u1ea1i h\u1ecdc FPT \u0110\u00e0 N\u1eb5ng is more than just a university. It embodies Vietnam’s shift towards a knowledge-based economy. Founded on September 8 2006 under Decision 208/2006/Q\u0110-TTg of the Prime Minister. The university is a 100% investment of FPT Group.
FPT University is the first university in Vietnam established by a business. This makes it a pioneer in the Vietnamese education system. The university quickly expanded. It now has campuses in Hanoi Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho besides Da Nang. There is also one in Quy Nhon.
The Da Nang campus at 137 Nguyen Thi Thap is a hub of activity. Here students pursue programs from digital marketing to software engineering. The campus is also located in FPT City. It reflects the university’s commitment to modern urban development.
FPT University is forward-thinking. In 2018 the university began offering international programs in Laos. It reflects a vision of global educational integration. They offer Software Engineering and Business Administration. These programs help students compete internationally.
But how did FPT University become a reality? Getting permission to open the university was a challenge. The Ministry of Education was hesitant initially. FPT used media pressure and finally got approval on November 15 2006.
The university’s fees are high compared to public universities. It costs approximately US$13600 for a four-year course.
FPT University has also earned international recognition. In November 2012 it became the first Vietnamese university to receive a 3-star QS Stars rating. This recognized its quality of teaching and social contributions.
FPT University maintains partnerships with international institutions. These include the University of Greenwich in the UK. These partnerships enhance the university’s global perspective. They provide students with diverse educational opportunities.
