“Where can you find baseball, playgrounds, and maybe even a film shoot?” That’s the question I want you to consider as we stand here in Vincent Bell Memorial Park. This isn’t just any park. Vincent Bell Memorial Park is a vibrant community hub in Gardena.
Vincent Bell Memorial Park at 14708 Halldale Avenue offers many activities. It has a baseball field for sporty visitors. Two playgrounds offer fun for children. A futsal court is available for those who enjoy this soccer variant.
Did you know that Vincent Bell Memorial Park is also a filming location? Imagine a film crew setting up here. The City of Gardena requires fees for filming. A Gardena application fee costs 200 dollars. The park use fee is 400 dollars per day. There is also a park prep or strike fee. It costs 100 dollars per day for up to three days. After three days, it jumps to 400 dollars per day.
Productions need to contact Nikki Sweeney to discuss filming. She is the Recreation Services Administrator. You can reach her at the City of Gardena Recreation and Human Services. Her number is (310) 217-9537.
Keep in mind some extra costs. A Park Monitor is required if filming occurs when the park is closed. Their rate is 30 dollars per hour with a 3-hour minimum. Also, at least two police officers are needed for filming. Each officer costs 100 dollars per hour. The minimum is 4 hours per officer.
Filming is allowed 7 days a week. The use fees cover a 24-hour period. These fees are not from midnight to midnight. Vincent Bell Memorial Park offers something for everyone whether you want to play sports relax or even make a movie. It is more than just a park. Vincent Bell Memorial Park is a place where memories are made.
