They housed the 141st Battalion until the provincial government expropriated the land. Since 2005, the site has been part of the university’s South Campus. This campus houses five historic art schools: the Félix Garzón Conservatory of Music, the Dr. José Figueroa Alcorta School of Fine Arts, the Lino Eneas Spilimbergo School of Applied Arts, the Fernando Arranz School of Ceramics, and the Roberto Arlt School of Theatre. Each school is equipped for training and practice in various artistic disciplines. The buildings are connected by green spaces, plazas, bridges, and internal streets. These outdoor areas also serve as stages for open-air performances. The Ciudad de las Artes offers guided tours. These tours showcase the city’s rich cultural and natural heritage. The complex also includes the Ernesto Farina Exhibition Hall and the Ciudad de las Artes Theatre. Additionally, there are two artist residencies. These provide accommodation for visiting professors and artists.
