Hidden within the bustling heart of Bangkok, the Vasudevi School whispers tales of faith, perseverance, and education. The Ursuline nuns, pioneers of education in Thailand, established Vasudevi School in 1955. Originally known as Regina Mundi, Vasudevi School started as a small haven for just 17 boarders. The school’s founding marked a significant moment in the Ursulines’ ongoing mission in Thailand. Their journey began in 1924 when they arrived in Bangkok. A few years later, they took over the Rosary School, catering to underprivileged Chinese and Siamese children. The Ursulines expanded their reach in 1928 with Mater Dei Institute, a school for upper-class Siamese students. Vasudevi School, their third establishment in Bangkok, aimed to further their commitment to education for all. The initial small boarding house quickly proved inadequate. The growing demand led to expansion and renovations in 1958. Vasudevi School blossomed into a larger institution. It continues to serve as a testament to the Ursulines’ dedication. Vasudevi School stands as a beacon of learning. It embodies the spirit of Saint Angela Merici, the founder of the Ursuline Order. The school’s history reflects the Ursulines’ broader commitment to education, justice, and peace in Thailand.
