In 1995, the seeds of Surau Jabal Nur were sown. It started on a portion of Lot 3342. This lot sat at the intersection of Jalan SG 9/8, Jalan 8/1, and Jalan Muhibbah. The location was in Taman Seri Gombak. The Surau Jabal Nur aimed to serve the growing Muslim population. Residents of Phase 8, part of Phase 9, and neighboring areas needed a place for religious activities.
Surau Jabal Nur quickly became a focal point. Daily prayers and community events thrived. Maghrib and Subuh lectures drew crowds. Al-Quran classes like Tajwid and Iqra enriched understanding. Even Arabic language lessons found their place here. The tradition of Ibadah Qurban was also observed.
Beyond daily routines, Surau Jabal Nur hosted significant life events. Marriage ceremonies celebrated new unions. Tahlil and Doa Selamat ceremonies offered solace and blessings. These events served not only the local community. Outsiders in need also sought the surau’s welcoming embrace.
In 1997, Sekolah Agama KAFA Integrasi Jabal Nur was founded on the same lot. This religious school addressed a crucial need. It provided children with essential religious knowledge. Specifically, it focused on “fardu Ain,” individual religious obligations. The school flourished. Student numbers swelled to 350. A dedicated team of six teachers guided them.
The school’s reputation grew beyond its immediate vicinity. It became known as one of Selangor’s best religious schools. Surprisingly, its fees remained among the lowest. This made it accessible to many families.
