Church of Our Lady Fatima

In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, stands the Church of Our Lady of Fatima. This isn’t just any church. It’s a testament to a community, a beacon of faith that has shone brightly for over six decades. The Church of Our Lady of Fatima, officially consecrated in July 1963, has witnessed the transformation of Kuala Lumpur. Initially serving the Tamil-speaking Catholics in Brickfields, Bangsar, Pantai Dalam, and Old Klang Road, it now embraces all Catholics in these areas. The late Archbishop Tan Sri Dominic Vendargon consecrated the church. Its first administrator was the late Rev Fr Noel Clement, followed by the late Rev Fr Swaminathan, the first resident Parish Priest. Fr Swaminathan established the administrative office, marking the beginning of the church’s formal growth. The church also played a crucial role in establishing another church in Puchong, demonstrating its dedication to serving the growing Catholic community. The Church of Our Lady of Fatima celebrated its Diamond Jubilee in 2023. It marked 60 years of serving the community. The church continues to be a vibrant center of faith. It reminds us of the enduring power of community and the importance of spiritual guidance in a constantly changing world. The Church of Our Lady of Fatima is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a living testament to faith, community, and the enduring power of hope.
