Recall a time when green was more than just a color. It was a symbol of artistry and tradition. That is Siam Celadon for you.

Welcome to Siam Celadon. It is more than just a factory. It is a journey into the heart of Thai craftsmanship. Here, you will discover the secrets of celadon. It is a unique glazed stoneware.

Siam Celadon’s story began with a vision. Khun Tassanee Yaja, the owner, had a passion. She loved the art of celadon ceramics. She devoted 25 years to it. Her goal was to share this art with the world.

Chiang Mai Celadon is the brand. It represents Chiang Mai’s celadon ceramics. They produce dinnerware, home decor, gifts, and souvenirs. These products attract tourists. They also appeal to Thais. Both appreciate traditional art.

The company’s trademark is special. It shows a galae under shade. This is a Lanna gable. It represents the company’s Lanna heritage. The name “ChiangMai Celadon” appears in English. This shows its global presence.

The term “Celadon” comes from French. It was chosen when the company began. They produced celadon ceramics in Chiang Mai. Now, they have a patent. It signifies Chiangmai “GI” Celadon. When you think of Celadon, think of Chiang Mai.

Celadon is stoneware. It has a glaze of wood ash. This is mixed with soil from rice paddies. When baked, it turns a unique green. This green is distinctive to Celadon. It is beautiful and timeless.

The glaze is made from laurel wood ash. It also contains soil from rice paddies. The soil is rich in iron. Many glaze layers are applied. This creates a crazing effect. The crazing is a key feature of Celadon.

Siam Celadon is located on the Handicraft Road. This road is full of artisan workshops. Here, everything is made by hand. This includes drum seats and dinner sets.

The factory has many rooms. Each room focuses on a step in celadon making. The process is complex. It requires good clay, proper drying, and skilled artisans. The artisans mold, design, glaze, and fire. Pieces for decoration go to a slip artist. After two days, they are fired at 1,472 degrees. Then comes glazing. Finally, they fire at 2,300 degrees.

Siam Celadon maintains Celadon’s natural glazing. They use wood ash. They keep the traditional techniques unchanged.

Here at Siam Celadon, you can see the process. You can also paint your own plate. The company will fire it. Then, they will deliver your unique piece.

Siam Celadon is more than just ceramics. It is a piece of Chiang Mai’s soul. It is a legacy. It is an unforgettable memory to take home.
