Phường Dĩ An. This bustling ward may not seem special at first glance. But it holds the beating heart of Dĩ An City. Look around! You are standing in the central hub of this thriving city in Bình Dương Province. Phường Dĩ An is the heart of the city’s administration. That’s right! You’ll find the People’s Committee, the People’s Council, and other important government offices all located right here. This ward hasn’t always been a bustling city center. It started as a humble part of An Bình Commune, a rural area in Dĩ An District. In 1977, things began to change. Dĩ An District merged with Lái Thiêu District to become Thuận An District. An Bình, including the area we now know as Phường Dĩ An, became part of this new district. A major shift happened in 1994 when An Bình Commune was officially established as a separate town. This was a pivotal moment, marking the area’s growth and potential. Just a few years later, in 1999, the Vietnamese government made a decision that would shape the future of Phường Dĩ An. They separated a large portion of land and population from Thuận An District to re-establish Dĩ An District. Phường Dĩ An, then still part of An Bình Town, became a key part of this newly reformed district. The goal was to create a more focused center for administration and growth. The story continued in 2011. Phường Dĩ An, with a population of over 73,000, was officially established as a separate ward within Dĩ An City. This marked its transition into a modern urban center.
