“Prayer Power Progress” That’s the motto of the Irvington Assembly of God Church. Right here before us stands a place of worship with a rich history. Irvington Assembly of God isn’t just a building. It’s a vibrant community. It’s a testament to faith resilience and the transformative power of the Gospel.
For years this church has served as a spiritual anchor for countless individuals. It’s a place where lives have been changed from the inside out. The church’s mission is clear. It aims to shape lives through worship discipleship fellowship and evangelism. Their vision is even more ambitious. They strive to foster a culture of Christ-like transformation.
Pastor Steeve Caesar has led Irvington Assembly of God since 2010. He’s a dedicated minister ordained since 1998. He holds degrees in Biblical Studies and Education and Leadership. His leadership reflects his belief in biblical literacy for spiritual growth. He emphasizes sanctification maturity and discipleship. His vision echoes the Apostle Paul’s prayer for unity in faith and knowledge of Christ.
The church isn’t led by Pastor Caesar alone. A dedicated team supports him. Pastor Festus Richards for example is an Assistant Pastor and Evangelism Coordinator. Despite facing the challenges of Parkinson’s disease since 2011 he remains committed to his mission. He strives to spread the Gospel within Irvington and surrounding communities.
Pastor Lynette Baptiste adds another layer of dedication to the church. She’s in charge of Pastoral Care Ministry and Christian Education. Her background in teaching and experience in Guyana’s Fruits of Calvary Assembly of God make her a valuable asset. Her husband Rev Winston Robert Baptiste also contributes significantly. He too has extensive pastoral experience in Guyana. He now supports the church’s mission here in the US.
Sunday services at Irvington Assembly of God begin at 11 AM and conclude at noon. They welcome members and visitors alike. The church however requests that visitors follow COVID-19 guidelines. This demonstrates the church’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its congregation. Even amidst challenges Irvington Assembly of God continues to fulfill its mission. It remains a beacon of faith hope and community in Irvington.
