From the Pavilion of Everlasting Spring the view is breathtaking. The Pavilion of Everlasting Spring sits atop Jingshan Hill. This is the highest point in Beijing for 491 years. It offers a unique 360-degree panorama of the city.

The Pavilion of Everlasting Spring is more than just a beautiful viewpoint. It’s a place steeped in history. During the Ming Dynasty it was known as ‘Dominating Hill’. This name perfectly describes its commanding position. From here you can see almost everything.

Look to the south. You see the Imperial Palace. Its walls stretch out before you. You can even glimpse Tiananmen Square in the far distance. To the north lies Beihai Park. Its famous White Dagoba is clearly visible on a clear day. This Dagoba was built in the 17th century. It was damaged in an earthquake but has since been restored.

The Pavilion of Everlasting Spring itself is a sight to behold. Its decorations are in the Ming style. Glazed green and yellow tiles adorn its walls. The Qianlong Emperor loved this spot. He considered it the most romantic place in Beijing.

This hill has witnessed pivotal moments in Chinese history. In 1911 a symbolic cannon shot was fired from here. This marked the end of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Puyi abdicated days later.

The Pavilion of Everlasting Spring is a place of contrasts. A place of stunning beauty and profound historical significance. A place where the past and the present meet. It is a place that invites contemplation. A place you won’t soon forget. Take a moment to soak it all in. From this vantage point atop Jingshan Hill at the Pavilion of Everlasting Spring remember this moment forever.
