It was spearheaded by Professor Lopes Martins from the University of Porto’s Faculty of Medicine. Despite even having a spot earmarked for it in the university district blueprints, political turmoil and shifting priorities kept pushing its establishment back. But the yearning for a dedicated space to delve into legal studies never faded in Porto. This building itself has its own story. Opened on April 13th, 1937, it was purpose-built for the Faculty of Engineering. Its spacious interiors and well-equipped rooms, once bustling with aspiring engineers, found a new life echoing with legal debates and academic discourse.
