Originally from Alexandria, Louisiana, Dr. Talley’s journey to Mount Cornith is a story of dedication and divine calling. He began his ministry under the late Rev. J. Roland Hicks and Rev. L. H. Crosby. For over four decades, he has nurtured the spiritual growth of Mount Cornith, the surrounding community, and Prairie View A&M University. In 2013, Dr. Talley stepped in as interim pastor, and his leadership ignited a transformation. His belief in active participation within the church resonated deeply. He was unanimously chosen as pastor, guiding the congregation with the motto: “Trusting God to do His part as we press on to do ours.” Dr. Talley also shares his wisdom and artistic talents as a Professor and Director of Art at Prairie View A&M University. His influence extends beyond the pulpit, touching lives through education and creative expression. Alongside Dr. Talley is a team of dedicated ministers. Rev. Bruce Kirby, a captivating teacher and student of God’s word, serves as the Superintendent of Sunday School. Dr. Vanessa Weatherspoon enriches the congregation with her extensive biblical knowledge. She leads the Impact Bible Study, sharing her insights gleaned from years of study and ministry.
