Consider the Eurotheum a chameleon in Frankfurt’s skyline. Completed in 1999, the Eurotheum stands 110 meters tall. This 31-story skyscraper isn’t just another office building. It is one of the few in Frankfurt that mixes business with pleasure.

The Eurotheum was designed by Novotny Mähner Assoziierte. It was constructed around the same time as the Main Tower. Both share an underground car park.

Originally, the European Central Bank occupied much of the Eurotheum. They used it as an extension of their Eurotower headquarters. That was until 2015.

But there is more to the Eurotheum than meets the eye. Up to the 21st floor, you’ll find 17000 square meters of office space. Above that, from the 22nd to the 29th floor, are 74 furnished apartments. These apartments can be rented for short or long stays. The Innside Premium Suites offer hotel services too.

The 22nd floor also features a public bar lounge. It’s a great spot to enjoy views of Frankfurt.

After the ECB moved out, the Eurotheum was renovated. It transformed into a multi-tenant property. In 2018, Commerzbank sold the Eurotheum to GEG.

Here’s a quirky fact. The Eurotheum houses a unique heating system. The former ECB data center now contains servers cooled by water. This water heats up to 60 degrees Celsius. It is then integrated into the building’s heating circuit. Talk about efficient.

Another interesting tidbit involves a road not taken. Back in 1985, Helaba considered building an office here. Had they followed through, the Eurotheum might never have existed.

More recently, the entrance area was updated. The goal was to create uniformity on the ground floor. Curved wall structures now guide visitors. These walls lead to the reception area, elevators, and restaurant.

The foyer ceiling varies in height. It features curved walls made of industrial glass profiles. These profiles reach up to seven stories. Over 1100 linear profile luminaires light up the walls. Casambi technology controls the lighting. Complex lighting scenes can be created via tablet.

So, the Eurotheum is more than just a building. It is a dynamic space blending work, living, and innovation. It is a testament to Frankfurt’s ever-evolving urban landscape.
