For 72 years, a large clock oversaw the bullring. In 1952, its mechanism failed. An employee manually moved the hands from behind the clock face.
Curro Romero inaugurated the modern arena in April 2000. He directed the first bullfight. The construction cost 25 million euros. The venue also boasts 1015 parking spaces.
