Built between 1906 and 1907. Architect Anthony F A Schmitt designed this beautiful church. It served the largely Irish Catholic community of the South Bronx. Father Francis M Fagan was the first pastor. He established the parish in 1906. A fine parish school opened in 1913. The church was a center of faith and community. Generations of families worshipped within its walls. The church paid off its debt by 1928. A commercial high school was added in 1930. It stood as a testament to the unwavering faith of its parishioners. Times changed. Sadly the church was desacralized in 2017. Its purpose shifted. Yet its presence remains.
