Showa no Mori is Chiba City’s largest park. It is also the largest in Chiba Prefecture. Opened in 1975 Showa no Mori Park has become a beloved destination. It was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 City Parks in 1989.

Around Showa no Mori azaleas bloom in mid-April to early May. See 50000 azaleas in full bloom. Types include Oomurasaki Kurume and Kirishima azaleas. From the observation deck you can view the Kujukuri Plain and the Pacific Ocean.
Getting here is easy. Take the JR Sotobo Line to Toke Station. A 30-minute walk will bring you here. Alternatively take a Chiba Chuo bus. Get off at Showa no Mori Nishi or Showa no Mori.
