Did you know that Holy Family Catholic Academy’s roots stretch back to 1953? That’s when Father Carey envisioned a Catholic elementary school for his parish. This wasn’t just any school. It was born from the parish’s Religious Education Program. Imagine the dedication! Holy Family Academy stands here a testament to that vision. It’s more than bricks and mortar. It’s a living legacy.

The Sisters of St Joseph formed the entire first faculty. They laid the groundwork for the exceptional academic and spiritual traditions that continue today. The academy’s history isn’t just about textbooks and tests. It’s about faith and community. The first graduating class was in 1957. They were pioneers. They paved the way for generations of students.

In 2015 Holy Family School transformed into Holy Family Catholic Academy. This was part of Bishop DiMarzio’s strategic plan for the Diocese of Brooklyn’s Catholic schools. The change broadened its reach. The academy now serves students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. While the current faculty and staff are lay people they proudly uphold the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph. It’s a remarkable continuation of a powerful story.

Think of the countless students who have walked these halls. They’ve learned not just reading writing and arithmetic. They’ve learned faith hope and charity. They’ve received a Christ-centered Catholic education. This focus on academic excellence and individual development is the heart of Holy Family Academy. The academy continues to provide a nurturing environment where children grow academically and spiritually.

Holy Family Academy stands as a symbol of enduring faith and commitment to education. It’s a place where the past inspires the future. The spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph lives on in the hearts of students teachers and staff. So as you stand here you are not only looking at a school. You are witnessing a powerful ongoing narrative of faith knowledge and community. Holy Family Academy is a truly special place.
