Lingxi Stream Scenic Spot is quiet and beautiful. It feels like another world. The valley lies between two mountains. A small reservoir sits at the valley’s end. A river flows from the reservoir. It creates pools and waterfalls along its path.

Green trees and mountain flowers cover both sides. Strange rocks accent the lush vegetation. Water flows gently through the valley. Imagine early spring. Peach blossoms spread across the hills. Green branches sprout softly. The mountain breeze kisses your face. Birds sing constantly. You have stepped into a fresh and peaceful paradise.

To get to Lingxi Stream Scenic Spot, start at Pingguoyuan subway station. Head northwest into Mentougou District. Follow Jinding Street, Wulituo and Sanjiadian. Enter the mountains via National Highway 109. The road climbs gradually. Rugged rocks rise on your right. The Yongding River flows quietly on your left. Pass Junzhuang town and Chenjiazhuang to Danli. Look for a Y-shaped fork. Ignore the Miaofeng Mountain archway on the right. Instead go left. Turn right after a tunnel. Continue three kilometers to Xiaweidian. At the T-junction go right toward Xiaweidian village. Continue straight on National Highway 109. Ignore the visitor stop sign. Also ignore the intersection for Shangweidian. The road continues into the valley. Before a bridge look left. Find the Miaofengshan Lingxi Scenic Spot sign. Turn left onto a narrow road. National Road 109 runs parallel separated by a ditch. After two kilometers you’ve arrived. Your destination is Lingxi Science and Technology Park.

The Lingxi Science and Technology Park is an educational base for students. Entry costs 10 yuan. You can find food and beer near the entrance. A 20-minute walk up the canyon leads to a barbecue area. Open fires are allowed here. Another 10 minutes brings you to the campsite. You can pitch a tent here. A pool sits near the campsite. A small waterfall flows into it. The water is clear enough to boil but don’t pollute it. The path from the gate to the campsite has trash cans and toilets. From the campsite you can continue through the canyon. Enjoy the natural scenery. It takes about an hour to reach the reservoir.

Cycling to Lingxi Stream Scenic Spot is popular. The 30-kilometer route from Apple Garden mostly follows National Road 109. The road is in good condition. The mountains aren’t too steep. The roadside scenery is beautiful.

If you camp the fee is 15 yuan per person. Bargaining is possible. Remember to protect the environment. Take care of water sources and be cautious with fire.

Lingjiao village is next to Lingxi valley. The air is fresh and vegetation dense. Lingxi valley has streams year-round. Small fish, shrimps, toads and frogs live here. Visitors enjoy the fresh air and the stream’s sounds. The area offers a break from the city noise. See the Lingjiao ancient waterwheel. Admire the Dujiangkan-style stone cages.
