The Blue Line is more than just a mode of transport. It is a lifeline connecting Delhi with Noida and Ghaziabad. It is officially known as Line 3 and Line 4. The Blue Line predominantly runs on elevated tracks. It is the longest line by total length on the Delhi Metro network.

Initially, the Main Line held the title of the longest. That was until the Pink Line extended further. The Blue Line still stretches impressively. These included Dwarka to Dwarka Sector 9 and Barakhamba Road to Indraprastha. Then came Indraprastha to Yamuna Bank and Yamuna Bank to Noida City Centre. Finally, Dwarka Sector 9 to Dwarka Sector 21 was added.

A branch line extended from Yamuna Bank to Anand Vihar. It opened on January 8 2010. Later, it extended to Vaishali on July 14 2011. An extension from Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City opened on March 9 2019.

Did you know Karkardooma station stands tall? It is the second-highest station on the Blue Line. Its platform rises 20 meters high. Rajouri Garden station is also high. It stands at 17 meters.

The Delhi Metro offers parking at 35 Blue Line stations. Imagine the convenience for commuters. The Blue Line is set for further expansion. There are plans to extend the Main Line from Noida Electronic City to Sahibabad.

The Blue Line operates with a fleet of modern trains. These include Mitsubishi Hyundai Rotem BEML and Bombardier rakes. The trains run on a broad gauge. They are powered by overhead catenary. The trains can reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
