What if buildings could talk? What stories would they whisper about power, creativity, and the magic of storytelling? Here at the Team Disney – The Michael D. Eisner Building, the walls themselves hold a treasure trove of Disney history. The Team Disney – The Michael D. Eisner Building, formerly known as the Team Disney Burbank building, stands as the main building at the Walt Disney Studios. Completed in 1990, this architectural marvel, designed by Michael Graves, isn’t just an office building. It’s the heart of Disney’s creative engine. The Team Disney – The Michael D. Eisner Building houses the office of the CEO, the boardroom, and offices for senior management. Before its completion, Disney executives were scattered throughout the old Animation Building and the Roy O. Disney Building. The Team Disney – The Michael D. Eisner Building is sometimes playfully referred to as the “Seven Dwarfs Building”. Its eastern façade features massive caryatids of the Seven Dwarfs appearing to hold up the roof, a whimsical tribute to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The film’s success, in fact, financed the purchase of this very Burbank lot. Each dwarf statue stands an impressive 19 feet tall, except for Dopey, who is a charming two-thirds the size of his companions. In 1996, the Team Disney – The Michael D. Eisner Building even had a cameo in the Hollywood Pictures film Spy Hard. And in 2006, the building was officially rededicated as the Team Disney – The Michael D. Eisner Building to honor Michael Eisner’s 21 years of leadership at Disney. The building’s location, opposite the Frank G. Wells Building, adds another layer of historical significance. Wells, Eisner’s colleague and president of the Walt Disney Company from 1984 to 1994, played a crucial role in Disney’s success during that era. So, as you stand before the Team Disney – The Michael D. Eisner Building, remember, you’re not just looking at a building. You’re witnessing the embodiment of Disney’s creative spirit, a place where imagination takes shape and stories come to life.
