St. Christophorus began with a groundbreaking on January 11, 1955. Just a few months later, on April 24, 1955, the foundation stone was laid. The rapid construction continued. By July 27, 1955, they celebrated the topping-out ceremony. Finally, on November 4, 1956, Archbishop Dr. Lorenz Jäger consecrated St. Christophorus.

The church quickly became a center for the community. In April 1957, they held the first First Communion celebration. The first Confirmation was given in November 1958. St. Christophorus officially became a parish on July 1, 1959. The parish published its first newsletter on January 24, 1960.

The community continued to grow and build. They celebrated their first community festival on October 10, 1961. The community center’s topping-out ceremony took place on January 20, 1964. The parish house was completed on August 20, 1964.

In March 1965, the community finished the community hall and kindergarten. December 10, 1966, marked the consecration of the organ. The church bells were consecrated on December 15, 1978. They named the bells Maria, Josef, Christophorus, and Barbara.

Today, St. Christophorus has an active church choir. The Kirchenchor St. Christophorus currently includes 33 singers. Marianne Michels chairs the choir. They sing at various church services. Christmas, Easter, and Corpus Christi are particularly important. The choir also enjoys social events. These include excursions and participation in community festivals. Marion Ahle has been the musical director for many years. She celebrated her 20th anniversary as conductor in 2014. Choir rehearsals take place on Mondays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
