Springwood State High School has been a major part of the Springwood community for decades. It was established in 1977. You are now standing in front of the school entrance on Springwood Road.

This public school serves students from Year 7 to Year 12. Today, there are over 500 students and more than 50 teaching staff. It is one of only fifteen air quality monitoring stations in South East Queensland.

The school was initially opened for only Grade 8 students. It was not until 1978 that the school had its official opening ceremony. If you walk around a bit, you can see the original building. The school has had a lot of famous students like rugby union player Quade Cooper, Olympic gold medalist Jodie Henry and racing driver Steven Johnson. In the early 2010s, the school was in the news when 20 students were suspended for creating a Facebook page that harassed staff members. Nowadays, the school has everything from a Fitness Centre and eSports Hub to a student-run café and an Innovation Centre. This is an amazing school with a strong sense of community and a dedication to academic excellence. Springwood State High School has come a long way and it continues to grow and evolve.
