“What began with a passionate desire?” That’s the story of Grace of Love Church in Chiang Mai.
Pastors Nathan and Salila felt called to plant a church. They wanted to strongly preach the finished work of Jesus. They desired to raise committed disciples in Thailand.
In May 2004, they moved to Chiang Mai. They had a God-given vision. They believed in God’s grace and faith. On July 11, 2004, Abundant Grace Church AGC was launched. About 20 adults attended the first service. It was held in a small building. The church had plastic chairs, one speaker, and two microphones. A guitar and table fans completed the scene.
The Word of God touched people’s hearts. The church grew. Services moved to the YMCA International Hotel. The church stayed there until August 2009. Rapid growth and faith enabled a move to a larger facility.
AGC continues to grow today. It fulfills its vision. It proclaims God’s grace. It raises strong disciples without compromise.
From the beginning, AGC aimed to be a local church with a powerful influence. Its vision focuses on the Thai urban community. The message is about victorious living. It speaks of purposeful living through Jesus. This happens through the Holy Spirit. It happens through faith in Jesus’ finished work.
Pastor Nathan Gonmei has been in full-time ministry for almost 20 years. God has called him to Asian nations. He proclaims the gospel there. He desires to see lives transformed by Jesus. His teaching style is clear and passionate. It has brought victories to many. His leadership has helped people realize their potential. People are influenced by his stance on God’s Word. They are impacted by the finished work of Jesus.
Pastor Nathan and Salila founded Abundant Grace Church. They also started Emmaus Bible course in Chiang Mai. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center. His ministry impacts lives through church planting and discipleship. He wants believers to experience victory. He wants them to walk in God’s purpose.
Salila is a devoted wife and mother. She shares her husband’s passion for the gospel. She offers encouragement, love, and support. She was a Buddhist before coming to Jesus. She presents the gospel to Thai people effectively. She has led many Thais to Jesus. She encourages their walk with the Lord. Her relationship with Jesus inspires many. She deeply desires to see Thailand impacted with grace. Salila co-pastors with Pastor Nathan. She translates his sermons into Thai.
