Founded during the reign of King Rama V Wat Bueng Thong Lang stands proudly in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi District. Its history is deeply rooted in the devotion of Longpoo Puk. Ordained at Wat Suthatthepvararam he was a student of Sangaraja Phea. He established Wat Bueng Thong Lang a testament to his spiritual journey.

The temple’s abbots have played a vital role in its development and growth. The lineage includes Ven Phrakrudhammasamajarn Puk Dhammatattoo from 1917-1958. Ven Phrakrupisalviriyakum Singto Tisso served from 1958-2004. Ven Phrakrusujitvimol Juang Sucitto served from 2004-2021. Wat Bueng Thong Lang’s present abbot is Ven Phrakrusangkaruk Sathit Sukhakamo.

The Ubosot with its striking blue roof is a visual centerpiece. A Viharn houses an ancient Buddha image adorned with gold leaf. Another Viharn serves as a central space for offerings to the monastic community. Its upper level offers a stunning view and houses an impressive statue possibly a replica of Phra Phuttha Chinnarat.
