Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology

Established in 1966, the Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology (HIET) began as a humble training center. Originally known as the Hindustan Engineering Training Centre (HETC), it embarked on a journey of growth. This journey shaped its destiny and cemented its place in Chennai’s educational landscape. In 1970, HIET expanded its horizons by introducing the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course. This marked a significant milestone. It showcased HIET’s commitment to evolving with the times and meeting the demands of a rapidly changing world. Later, in 1979, HIET further diversified its offerings with the establishment of the HIET Polytechnic College. This addition broadened the institute’s reach. It allowed it to cater to a wider range of students pursuing various technical disciplines. Fast forward to 2012, and HIET inaugurated a new campus at Serapanachery in Kanchipuram District. This expansion reflects HIET’s continuous growth and dedication to providing quality education. The Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology also has two other colleges under its wing. These are the HIET Polytechnic College and the HIET Aviation College, further diversifying its educational portfolio. The institute prides itself on offering approved engineering diploma courses. These include specializations in Automobile, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. The Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology is affiliated with HITS Chennai and approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This recognition speaks to the quality and standards upheld by the institution.
