The Seixoso a grand building surrounded by pine trees and eucalyptus trees has an interesting past. Initially built as a sanatorium it was partially destroyed by fire in 1904. It was rebuilt as a rest haven. It attracted numerous visitors including counts marquises generals and doctors. It even hosted a bottling plant for the waters of the Fonte Juvêncio. The source of Juvêncio water was renowned for its diuretic qualities.
This once-popular spa is now primarily used by the family of the original owner Dr António Cerqueira Magro. The Fonte Juvêncio still provides pure water. Local residents regularly collect it.
