Nestled within Suita City, Osaka, stands the Yamada Daiichi Elementary School (吹田市市立山田第一小学校). Its history stretches back to the early Meiji era. In 1873, it opened its doors as the Shimoda District’s Fifth School District Second Elementary School. Yamada Daiichi Elementary School has seen many changes. In 1892, it was reorganized and renamed the Yamada Island Regular Elementary School. A few years later, in 1895, it moved to its current location. Yamada Daiichi Elementary School continued to evolve with the times. After the educational reforms of 1947, it became the Yamada Village Yamada Elementary School. Then, in 1952, after the separation and establishment of the Yamada Village Yamada Second Elementary School, it was renamed Yamada Village Yamada Daiichi Elementary School. Finally, when Yamada Village merged with Suita City in 1955, it received its present name: Suita City Yamada Daiichi Elementary School. The school’s growth reflects the development of the surrounding area. As the population increased, new schools were needed. In 1974, Suita City Yamada Daisan Elementary School was established. Then, in 1979, Suita City Nishiyama Elementary School opened. These new schools helped accommodate the growing number of students in the area. Yamada Daiichi Elementary School serves students living in the Yamada Higashi 1-3 Chome area of Suita City. Graduates typically move on to Suita City Yamada Higashi Junior High School, continuing their education within the local community. Yamada Daiichi Elementary School has witnessed significant historical shifts and played a vital role in educating generations of Suita City residents.
