Centuries later, this area, Wuhe, still resonates with the echoes of history. Wuhe, once part of Jinma Town, became absorbed into the larger Yunlong Town in December 2019. Yet, its identity remains intertwined with Wuhou District. Wuhe and Wuhou District share a rich tapestry woven with silk and brocade. Since the Han Dynasty, this region has been renowned for its textile craftsmanship. Within Wuhe’s Wuhou District lies Cuqiao, a historical starting point of the Southern Silk Road. Cuqiao, meaning “coarse bridge,” was once known as Cocoon Bridge, a testament to its role in the silk trade.
