Wirae Middle School officially opened its doors on November 9, 2015, with just three grades. That same day, Shin Kwang-ho took the helm as the first principal.

Wirae Middle School has seen significant growth. In February 2016, the first graduation ceremony marked a milestone for the school, with three graduates stepping out into the world. Fast forward to 2024, and the ninth graduation ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of a much larger class of 355 students. This growth reflects not only the increasing population of the area, but also the school’s growing reputation for excellence. The current principal, Kim Jeong-seon, the fourth to lead Wirae Middle School, assumed responsibility on March 1, 2024.
