Rustling leaves whispered secrets of the rainforest. Welcome to the Lata Beringin Sungai Resam Semungkis Campsite. This hidden gem is nestled in the heart of Hulu Langat Selangor. It’s a semi-wild campsite near a series of stunning waterfalls.
Imagine yourself surrounded by lush tropical rainforest. The air is clean and fresh. The sounds of nature create a peaceful ambiance. Lata Beringin boasts a series of six waterfalls. The main waterfall is Lata Beringin itself. The sixth and final waterfall is known as Jeram Air Mata Gajah. These falls aren’t exceptionally tall. However they feature several delightful pools perfect for a refreshing dip.
The trail to the falls isn’t officially marked. It’s however quite easy to follow due to regular use. Beginners with some hiking experience can easily manage this trail. It’s not overly difficult. The campsite itself is well-maintained. It offers amenities like toilets and a surau a small prayer room. There are bamboo fences creating a tranquil space. A private operator manages the campsite charging entrance and parking fees.
The trail begins to the left of the river. It gently climbs uphill. Sections of the trail have ropes for easier navigation during the rainy season. The trail doesn’t pass directly by every waterfall. To see all the smaller falls you need to take the junction down the slope and then climb back up to continue.
The journey culminates at Jeram Air Mata Gajah. This is a two-step cascade with a unique rock formation. It resembles an elephant’s head. A pleasant pool sits at the base of this final waterfall. Remember that maintaining the cleanliness of this natural wonder is crucial. Let’s work together to ensure that this beautiful campsite remains pristine. Rubbish exists only when we fail to take collective responsibility. So let’s leave no trace and continue to enjoy the beauty of Lata Beringin Sungai Resam Semungkis Campsite.
