Ahinsa Sthal was established in 1980. It is near the Qutub Complex on MG Road. The temple is dedicated to Lord Mahavira. He was the 24th and last Tirthankara. Tirthankaras are human spiritual guides. They appear in the current half round of time.

Look up at the magnificent statue of Lord Mahavira. It is 13 feet 6 inches high. He is in Padmasana. This is the Lotus Position. The statue was carved from granite rock. This happened in Karkala. It weighs about 30 tonnes. The lotus podium is 2 feet 8 inches high. It weighs about 17 tonnes.

Notice the two brutal lions. They stand guard on both sides of the statue. This adds to the impressive structure. The Ahinsa Sthal is on a small hill.
