Established as An Renxian in 620 AD, during the Tang Dynasty, Anlong bore the weight of history, its name echoing the sentiment, “world peace in mind,” a wish for tranquility and benevolence. Governed under the Jiannan Qiong state, Anlong thrived, its identity rooted in the ancient county seat. Anlong remained An Renxian until 1284 AD, when Yuan Dynasty reforms brought it under the jurisdiction of Dayi County. Today, Anlong’s legacy endures in the preserved remnants of ancient residential areas and grand estates, spanning approximately 300,000 square meters. Wencai’s Mansion, Liuwenhui’s Mansion, Liuxiang’s Mansion, and Liuyuanxuan Mansion, among others, showcase a captivating blend of traditional West Sichuan design and Western architectural techniques.
