Seven thousand and thirteen souls call Wangping home. That’s the population count in 2020. Wangping a town in Mentougou District. It sits nestled in the eastern part of the district. Think of it as a quiet corner of Beijing. A hidden gem.
Wangping wasn’t always a town though. Its history stretches back far beyond 2020. In 1949 it was part of Beijing’s 28th District. Later it became part of the Datai People’s Commune.
