Have you ever felt the pulse of a city thrumming beneath your feet? Gateway City Church stands tall on Bay Ridge Avenue. It’s a vibrant testament to faith in the heart of New York City.

Gateway City Church wasn’t always this grand building. It began in 1990 as New Hope Fellowship Church. Founded by Pastor Roger McPhail and his wife Teresa. They had a powerful vision. They wanted to see God’s presence tangible on every New York street.

Pastor Roger McPhail is a dynamic preacher. He’s also a prophetic leader. He’s on the cutting edge of modern Christianity. He seeks to make Christ relevant in our culture. He’s even a member of the International Coalition of Apostles. This is led by Dr C Peter Wagner. He’s also the Chancellor of the Wagner Leadership Institute. This trains leaders for effective ministry. It aims to build the Body of Christ.

Pastor Teresa McPhail is equally influential. She leads a team of intercessors. They pray for the city’s spiritual well-being. She also trains healing and deliverance teams. She has a deep passion for Christian education. Together the McPhails founded four Christian schools.

Gateway City Church’s impact extends far beyond its walls. Pastor Roger founded Mission New York. This is a network of over 225 pastors. They meet monthly for prayer and vision-sharing. One initiative was Pray New York. Pastors and congregations prayer-walked all 9400 blocks of Brooklyn. They also prayed over highways waterways subway lines bridges and airports.

The church’s growth is remarkable. It started as a small prayer meeting. Now it’s a thriving congregation. It includes an elementary school. The church even purchased several properties. This is to accommodate its expanding ministry. The latest purchase will house a sanctuary for 1000 people.

Gateway City Church’s story is one of unwavering faith and community impact. It’s a place where lives are transformed. It’s a beacon of hope in the heart of a bustling city. It’s a church where you can feel the presence of God. It truly is a gateway to something more.
