The original memorial a bronze plaque was stolen. This happened sometime before 2015. In 2015 however the local community stepped up. They replaced the stolen plaque. They also restored the neglected grove. Now local sports clubs take turns caring for it. This includes Grüna’s oldest sports club. They do this in cooperation with a local forester. He represents the Free State of Saxony. He has jurisdiction over this small wooded area.
