CCD’s Cherry Creek Building is part of the Auraria Campus. This unique campus houses three institutions. They are CCD, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and the University of Colorado Denver. Imagine a bustling hub of over 38,000 students and 5,000 staff members all sharing one space.

CCD began in 1967. It was created for the Colorado Legislature. The college first held classes in North Denver. Later it moved to an auto showroom near the Civic Center. In 1975, CCD found its permanent home on the Auraria Campus.
The main classroom buildings got a facelift in 2013. They were renamed to differentiate them. Now, we have the Cherry Creek Building. It stands alongside Boulder Creek, Clear Creek, and Bear Creek Buildings.
CCD is an open-door institution. It offers four degrees. These are Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, and Associate of General Studies. Each year, CCD awards over 700 associate degrees and certificates.
The Auraria Campus has a rich history. It was once the site of the 1858 frontier town of Auraria. The campus acknowledges that it is on the traditional territories of the Cheyenne and Arapahoe Nations. It also recognizes other Native Nations.
