Did you know that \u65b0\u6a4b\u5ba3\u9053\u5802 means “San Kiu Alliance Church” in English. It stands as a testament to faith and community. It has a fascinating history.
In 1981 the Hong Kong Rhenish Church sent Rev. Cai Zheng Guang to Macau. He came to pioneer missionary work. Soon after he purchased the current site in the New Bridge district. This led to the establishment of the Macau Alliance Church \u65b0\u6a4b\u5ba3\u9053\u5802. The first gathering took place on Easter Day April 13 1981.
Many churches in Hong Kong and Macau offered assistance. The church’s regular gatherings grew. The first baptism was held on October 26 1981. Four new believers joined the church. In November 1982 the church began publishing its first hand-copied newsletter. It also held its first youth fellowship.
In 1984 a “Personal Evangelism Training Class” was organized. It encouraged members to spread the gospel. By 1985 the church had 26 core members. Rev. Cai Zheng Guang resigned as a missionary in 1987. Pastor Huang Naiqian was hired as the second pastor of \u65b0\u6a4b\u5ba3\u9053\u5802 in June. In the same year the church participated in the first “New Life Discipleship Training Class”. It helped understand the mysteries of evangelism. An evangelistic team was officially formed in 1988.
In 1988 another missionary Rev. Ouyang Xiaobin came to Macau. He assisted in exploring gospel strategies for the northern district. In August 1989 Rev. Ouyang officially became a Rhenish missionary. He developed work in Huada New Village in Taishan District. In 1992 the Taishan Church moved to its current location. After Rev. Ouyang left Ms. Tan Wenyi took over the work in Taishan Church.
From 1992 to 1995 \u65b0\u6a4b\u5ba3\u9053\u5802 participated in evangelistic activities. These included “New Bridge District Gospel Campaign” and “North District Gospel Campaign”. They also organized a youth carnival in Baiyun Pavilion Park. There were also “Red Black and Yellow” evangelistic meetings.
In 1996 Rev. Huang Fangke’s mother suffered from cancer. He had to go to Hong Kong for treatment. During this period Brother Liang Guocheng temporarily took over church affairs. He also preached and pastored. In December 1997 Rev. Huang’s mother passed away. The church needed help. Brother Liang was hired as a local worker by the Rhenish Church. In 2001 Brother Liang entered Macau Bible College to study theology.
Currently Pastor Huang and his second wife serve together. They shepherd the church. In April 2003 they held celebrations. It marked the church’s 22nd anniversary. They also ordained the first session of deacons.
The \u65b0\u6a4b\u5ba3\u9053\u5802 faces future directions. Its current location is not well-known. This makes it difficult to promote various tasks. There are plans to relocate the church. They want to plant or expand the church in a more suitable area. They aim to promote gospel work in a diversified manner. They hope to complete this plan within two or three years.
In 2010 the church recognized the aging trend in the New Bridge district. This hindered the development of ministry. It decided to seek a new location to expand gospel work. In August of the same year it moved to its current location in Black Sand Ring.
As we approach 2021 and the church’s 40th anniversary we reflect. We renew the church’s vision and mission. We embark on a new journey. The \u65b0\u6a4b\u5ba3\u9053\u5802 is no longer just in the New Bridge district. The name “San Kiu Alliance Church” has transcended regional restrictions. It has a new direction.
Just as the Bible says Christ reconciled both groups to God through the cross. He proclaimed peace to those far and near. Jesus became the bridge between God and man. We have received salvation and the Great Commission. We continue to carry the vocation of the “bridge”. We let people near and far know Jesus. We reconcile with God. We share the gospel.
The church has experienced many ups and downs. We thank God that He is still the Lord of the church. He continues to bestow grace and care. \u65b0\u6a4b\u5ba3\u9053\u5802 stands as a beacon of faith. It embodies community spirit. It has a rich history in Macau.
