Giffnock URC’s roots trace back to the 1930s. Members of the Congregational Church on Eglinton Street near Eglinton Toll envisioned a suburban church. They wanted a church amidst the new houses springing up in Giffnock. This vision took shape, and Giffnock URC opened its doors in March 1937. A beautiful rose window graces the front of Giffnock URC. This window made the journey from the Eglinton Street church, a tangible link to its past. Giffnock URC stands at 163 Fenwick Road. Its location makes it easily accessible. The church has its own car park and is conveniently located next to a bus stop. The bus stop is served by the First Bus 38s and Stagecoach 4 routes. The train station is just five minutes away. Accessibility is a priority at Giffnock URC. While one entrance has steps, another features a ramp for easy access. Inside, a loop system aids those with hearing impairments. Dementia-friendly signs further demonstrate the church’s commitment to inclusivity.
