Have you ever felt a profound sense of peace in a place of worship? Step into Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel. Nestled on a hillside in Cebu City’s Guba barangay this sanctuary offers a unique spiritual experience. It’s a place of quiet reflection prayer and contemplation.

Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to faith and healing. It’s a story of a Cebuana woman named Edna Ouano Toral. Seriously ill she embarked on a pilgrimage to Manaoag Pangasinan. There she sought healing at the original Our Lady of Manaoag shrine. Her recovery in 1994 she attributed to a miracle. It was a miracle performed by Our Lady of Manaoag.

Edna’s gratitude led her to build this chapel in Cebu City. She donated 100 icons to churches across the Visayas and Mindanao. Her dedication to Our Lady of Manaoag is evident in every detail. She wanted to share the devotion. She wanted to provide a serene space for prayer.

The path to the chapel itself is part of the experience. You’ll cross a concrete bridge over a creek. You’ll walk a footpath lined with vibrant cucharita and mani-mani plants. You might notice a small rose garden or some mango trees along the way. It’s a journey leading to serenity.

The chapel itself is simple yet beautiful. A prayer room sits atop the hill. It’s a simple roofed structure ventilated by woven wood. Inside you’ll find benches for devotees. You’ll see statues of cherubs holding rosaries. The image of Our Lady graces the end of the room.

Further up another small building houses a museum. There’s also an outdoor chapel with a statue of Our Lady. There are a candle stand and concrete benches. It is a space for quiet contemplation and prayer. A river flows downhill. Wildflowers like camia abound there during the season.

Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel isn’t merely a place of worship. It’s a place of healing. It’s a place where faith blossoms. It’s a tranquil escape in the heart of Cebu City. It’s a testament to the enduring power of faith and devotion. It is a place you will want to remember.
