Why is Horwang School so special? Well, imagine a school built on the grounds of a former palace. That’s the legacy of Horwang School! This school, right here in Bangkok, has a history closely tied to Thai royalty. King Rama V originally intended the land for a palace, “Windsor Palace,” for his son, Crown Prince Maha Vajirunhis. Sadly, the prince died young. The palace was then transformed into a school for civil servants under King Chulalongkorn. It even briefly housed Chulalongkorn University! Over the years, the site went through several transformations, becoming a national stadium and even another school named Bangkhen Wittaya School. Finally, in 1967, alumni passionate about its legacy re-established it as Horwang School. Today, Horwang School stands as a testament to its rich past. It’s not just a place of learning; it’s a living link to Thai royal history and educational evolution.
