This center is Penn’s first cross-disciplinary building, encouraging collaboration between engineers, scientists, and students. They all work together to harness the infinite world beyond our vision.
Krishna P. Singh, the founder, president, and CEO of Holtec International, made this all possible. His vision and support have propelled advances in targeted medicine and nanomaterials. Even computers powered by nanotechnology have moved from idea to reality within these walls.
Inside the Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology, you’ll find over 100 advanced laboratory tools. These include some of the most powerful microscopes in Philadelphia. Researchers at Penn and around the world collaborate across disciplines. They delve into the fundamental nature of our world, seeking solutions for healthcare, energy, and climate change.
The Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology is not just a research facility. It’s also a launching pad for startup companies. Its Innovation Seed Grant Program offers access to nanotechnology tools. This helps interested parties build their own nanotech prototypes. In its first decade, this program has generated nearly $80 million in small company funding.
