From its humble beginnings as the \uc2dc\ud765119\ud654\ud559\uad6c\uc870\uc13c\ud130 in 2013, the \uc218\ub3c4\uad8c119\ud2b9\uc218\uad6c\uc870\ub300 has become a cornerstone of Seoul’s emergency response system. The \uc218\ub3c4\uad8c119\ud2b9\uc218\uad6c\uc870\ub300, also known as the Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Headquarters Special Rescue Team, officially opened its doors on November 19, 2014. It’s located in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, at 43 Byeokgwae 3-ro. The \uc218\ub3c4\uad8c119\ud2b9\uc218\uad6c\uc870\ub300 serves under the Central 119 Rescue Headquarters. Its primary mission is to manage and deploy specialized rescue teams and equipment. This includes handling various rescue situations like water rescues, mountain rescues, and those involving hazardous materials. The \uc218\ub3c4\uad8c119\ud2b9\uc218\uad6c\uc870\ub300 has evolved significantly over the years. Its name changed a few times, reflecting its growing responsibilities. It was first established in 2013 as the \uc2dc\ud765119\ud654\ud559\uad6c\uc870\uc13c\ud130. Then, in April 2014, it became the 119\uc218\ub3c4\uad8c\uc9c0\ub300, before finally adopting its current name in November 2014. The team’s jurisdiction covers Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do. They manage and operate the 119 Chemical Rescue Center.
