“Imagine a time when traffic jams were a constant headache, even near vital places like hospitals.” That’s the story of the University Hospital Interchange, right here in Amman. Before this bridge gracefully arched over the road, the area in front of Jordan University Hospital was notorious for its traffic congestion. It was a problem crying out for a solution, and in true Amman style, a solution was found. The University Hospital Interchange, a cloverleaf interchange with a bridge made of prestressed concrete, was born between July 1982 and July 1983. This wasn’t just about smoother traffic flow. The project also included a complete overhaul of the drainage, sewerage, communication, and lighting systems. The result? A much-needed improvement that cost around 3 million US dollars. This bridge is a testament to Amman’s commitment to progress and the well-being of its citizens. It stands as a symbol of how even in a city steeped in ancient history, modern solutions are embraced for a brighter future.
