Since 1913, the Schule Altengamme-Deich has stood here. But before that, children learned in the “Kirchenschule”. It is now the pastor’s house. This school is part of a historical group. It includes the church, community center, kindergarten, and the pastor’s house.
For a long time, these places worked alone. They did not talk to each other much. The Schule Altengamme-Deich did not do much in the village. People did not know what happened in class. They also did not know about school events.
But things changed in the last ten years. People wanted to know more about the Schule Altengamme-Deich. Parents and others wanted to see what was happening. They wanted to help with school groups and events.
Today, about 130 kids go to the Schule Altengamme-Deich. They are in Vorschule to Klasse 4. The school has an old building and a new one. Kids can learn in both places. They can use them in the morning and afternoon.
