Opened in 2005 to mark a century of Korea University’s existence, the LG-POSCO Hall stands before us. Its vision was clear from the start. It aimed to become Asia’s best business school. This goal was rooted in research, business cooperation, and global exchanges.

LG-POSCO Hall embodies T.I.G.E.R.S. It focuses on Technical, Industry, Entrepreneur, Research, and Service Leadership. The Hall strives to be future-oriented. It seeks to create a business education space that embraces Pro-digital, Flexibility, and Landmark qualities. Future leaders of the 21st century can mature here.

Korea University Business School, or KUBS, benchmarked global educational standards to create LG-POSCO Hall. The aim was to build Asia’s finest business school building. Optimal acoustics were installed. Ergonomic lighting was carefully chosen. High-speed internet is available wired and wireless. Cutting-edge teaching facilities are provided. Completed in October 2003, the six-story building spans 14,121 square meters.

Inside LG-POSCO Hall, you will find many facilities. There are modern lecture rooms. The Lee Myung-bak Lounge offers a place for relaxation. The Supex Hall hosts important events. Faculty offices provide space for professors. The Sudang Digital Library provides a wealth of knowledge.

Let’s explore some of LG-POSCO Hall’s highlights. The Supex Hall on level 4 is equipped with advanced sound systems. It also has simultaneous translation capabilities. Prominent scholars like Alvin Toffler have lectured here. It even serves as a venue for classical concerts like ‘The Scent of the Wine’.

The Sudang Digital Library has an advanced search system. It allows users to find business books, journals, and digital documents easily. You can monitor global stock market trends via the Bloomberg terminal.

The circle-shaped lecture rooms offer comfortable study environments. Chairs are arranged in a semi-circle around the platform. Sound collectors on the ceiling ensure clear audio for all students. The Digital Lounge features marble interiors. Seven large project TVs display global news and KUBS events.

LG-POSCO Hall plays a vital role in KUBS’s history. KUBS was Korea’s first university department for business studies. Founded in 1905 as Bosung College, it began with Plutology and Law departments. Plutology evolved into Commercial Science. This became the business school we know today. KUBS was the only place for business education in Korea until 1917.

KUBS also pioneered Western-style business studies in Korea. In 1937, it established the Business & Economics course. This laid the foundation for German business studies. It revolutionized the field in Korea.

Korea University attained university status in 1946. The Commercial Science Department was established in the Economics & Commercial Science College. In 1952, KUBS produced Korea’s first MBA graduate. In 1953, the KU Business & Commerce Journal was launched. In 1955, Korea University opened the Department of Business Administration.

In 1958, Korea University created the Center for Business Research & Education. Its resources spread throughout academia and business in Korea. In 1963, Korea University established the Graduate School of Business Administration.

LG-POSCO Hall stands as a symbol of KUBS’s commitment to excellence. It embodies the vision of nurturing future business leaders. The hall’s advanced facilities create an optimal learning environment. As we conclude our tour, remember that LG-POSCO Hall is more than just a building. It is a landmark. It is a place where future leaders are shaped.
