SMK Kepong Baru was established in 1969. The first students used the facilities of SRK Batu 4 Jalan Ipoh. During that time construction was underway. It was on an 11-acre land in Kepong Baru. The students were supervised by Allahyarham Khalid Murshid. He was the principal of SMK Raja Abdullah. Initially 341 students enrolled. Over the years the number grew drastically. Now the number of students is at least 2167. SMK Kepong Baru has 132 dedicated teachers. They ensure every student receives personalized attention.
