Established in 1950 Daido Kasei Kogyo Co Ltd has a rich history. Its roots trace back even further to 1930. Then it was known as Yodogawa Pigment Manufacturing Company. They produced dyeing and Azo lake pigments. During wartime the company merged with 13 others forming Teikoku Pigment Kogyo.

After the war the company continued as Taiyo Kasei Kogyo Yodogawa Factory. Yasujiro Fukumoto became the first president. He established Daido Kasei Kogyo with a capital of 1350000 yen. The company began manufacturing organic and inorganic pigments.

Daido Kasei’s journey wasn’t solely about pigments. In 1952 they developed special gravure ink. This marked the start of their ink division. A new factory was established in Higashi Osaka in 1961 to handle the growing ink production. The company also expanded into plastics. They began manufacturing colored polycarbonate polyester resin and master batch in 1965. Factories popped up in Suita and Shikoku.

The 1990s saw Daido Kasei enter the cosmetics industry. They started producing surface treatment powders. They also invested heavily in research and development. This is evident in their investment in multiple factories across Japan. These include Okayama Fukui and Niigata factories. Each one focusing on different aspects of the company’s product range.

The company also expanded globally establishing subsidiaries in Europe China and Italy. The expansion reflects Daido Kasei’s ambition and success. From humble beginnings as a pigment manufacturer Daido Kasei has become a diversified multinational corporation. Its enduring success is a testament to its adaptability innovation and commitment to quality. Daido Kasei’s story is one of resilience growth and global expansion. A truly impressive Osaka based company.
