“Anyone who has been to Silver Cave will never be short of money.” That’s a saying around here. Welcome to the Silver Cave, the largest karst cave in Guilin. It is a national AAAA level scenic spot.

The Silver Cave is located 85 kilometers from Guilin. It lies in Lipu County. Yangshuo is just 18 kilometers away. The cave runs through 12 hills.

This is a floor-type cave. It has three layers. You will see more than ten scenic spots. Admire the different types of stalactites. They are crystal clear. They sparkle like silver. This gives the Silver Cave its name.

We are now winding 2000 meters through the peaks. The Silver Cave ascends as high as 16 floors. It is a multi-level cave. We can divide it into three parts. These parts are the ground cave, the main hall, and the upper cave.

For hundreds of thousands of years, water dripped here. The water contained lime. This slow dripping created a natural spectacle. The stalactites resemble many things. See columns. Spot towers. Notice waterfalls and curtains. Some even look like human figures.

There are 28 scenic spots inside the Silver Cave. These include ‘The Three Wonders’ and ‘The Three Treasures’. Let’s explore them.

The first wonder is the Flying Waterfall of Snow Mountain. The walls here are snow white. Stalactites cascade down. They look like a silver waterfall.

Next, we have the Music Stone Screen. It is composed of stone pieces. They vary in height and thickness. If you rap lightly on them, you will hear tunes.

Finally, there is Wonderland in a Jade Pool Fairyland. Is the water really colorful? The reflection in the lake changes constantly. This is due to subtle changes in the light.

Now let’s discover the three treasures.

First, we have The Preaching Buddha. The stalactite looks like a Buddha statue. He sits on a platform. His legs are crossed. He seems to be preaching scriptures. Pious students attend his lecture.

Our second treasure is The Hunyuan Pearl Umbrella. This stalactite looks like a magic umbrella. People used it to pray for rain. It also subdued devils. Its unique shape is a puzzle to geologists. It is thick in the middle. It is thin at both ends.

The last treasure is The Single Pillar. It descends straight down. Many branches stretch out. It looks like a tree.

An underground river meanders through the cave. It stretches to Green Lake outside.

The Silver Cave is not just a cave. It’s a majestic wonder. Its otherworldly features make it an outstanding example of karst landscape. Remember the saying. May your visit to Silver Cave bring you good fortune.
